Rasuwa, Oct 15: The government has supplied food stuffs to the people in the flood-hit Langtang by helicopter after the Bhotekoshi flood cut off road access. All households in Langtang are provided essential food grains.

The mountainous settlement of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4 was supplied the food grains with the initiative of the local government and stakeholders concerned. After the devastative flood decimated Syafru bazaar, a trade hub for the locals, and even the roads and bridges on August 26, there was no alternative left than the transportation by helicopter.

According to Dindhup Tamang, chair of ward no 4 in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, 10 tonnes of food grains was supplied to the Langtang people with the help of World Food Programme (WFP). It was distributed to all households in a proportionate manner, he added.

The village is distant from the district headquarters- two day's walk. The villagers are happy to have the food grains made available in the locality.
