IGP KC vows public trust in Nepal police
Kathmandu, Nov 4: Newly appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP), Dr Manoj KC, has pledged retaining public trust in security. Respect of citizens is my top priority, he added.
In a brief address he made following his decoration with the rank insignia of Inspector General of Nepal Police at Home Ministry on Wednesday, IGP KC showed firm commitment towards the constitution and law.
Informing that he will not compromise on the dignity and impartiality of the police organization, IGP KC argued relationship with the public is instrumental for police organization. "From today, let's start the journey from duty to service delivery, where citizens should feel trust. Citizen should not fear when they see the police; every police officer should be proud of his uniform," he reminded.
The newly appointed top police official shared that he would immediately launch a high-level mechanism in his secretariat to hear the complaints of all police persons. IGP KC expressed his commitment to take a serious approach to issues including limited resources, lack of buildings, long working hours, fairness in transfers and promotions, and mental health.
Urging the government to provide the necessary resources, legal clarity, and operational autonomy, IGP KC expected support from political parties to keep the police organization free from partisan influence.
