Kathmandu, Sept 20: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has issued a directive to the government to prepare the statement to be made before the United Nations General Assembly covering the multidimensional aspects of the Bhote Koshi disaster and the evolving political situation. 
A meeting of the party's secretariat held today, at the central office under the chairmanship of Party President Rabi Lamichhane, instructed the delegation including the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister to prepare to articulate Nepal's stance on international relations and its role on the global stage during the assembly. 
RSP Spokesperson Jagadish Kharel also shared that the meeting decided to proceed with necessary strategic steps after receiving a detail report from Coordinator and Joint General Secretary Hari Dhakal regarding the party's organizational status and performance audit in Madhesh Province. 
According to him, the meeting nominated advocates Harichandra Bhattarai, Sushila Sinkhada, Ramchandra Karki, Shanta Thapa, Nandan Timilsina, Rohan Bohju, Bhavindra Rai, Santosh Acharya, Santosh Bisukhe, and Shweta Kumari as members of the Central Disciplinary Commission. 
Likewise, Gyanendra Malla has been nominated as the Deputy Chief of the Youth, Sports, and Empowerment Department. Mahesh Bhatta, Tashi Lajom, and Hikmat Jung Karki have been appointed as members of the International Relations and Diplomatic Department, while Jayaram Gurung and Rajkumar Shrestha have been appointed to the Public Service and Public Grievance Handling Department. 
During the meeting, newly nominated secretariat member Birajbhakta Shrestha and Joint Spokesperson Surendra Chaudhary took the oath of office and secrecy before Party President Lamichhane. Spokesperson Kharel shared that the meeting decided to resume all official party activities that had been suspended due to the Bhote Koshi disaster. 
Taking part in the meeting, Party Vice-Chair and Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle briefed the Secretariat about the meetings held and matters of economic diplomacy addressed during his recent visit to India.
Party officials and members serving in the government briefed the party on the multifaceted aspects of search, rescue, relief distribution, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts following the devastating Bhote Koshi floods.
The meeting drew the government's attention to the need for prompt DNA testing of unidentified flood victims. It also urged the government to expedite the legal process for issuing death certificates—with the consent of the families—for missing persons presumed dead, thereby ensuring that affected families receive the necessary relief and benefits.
