Kathmandu, Sept 20: The government has introduced a 'Care Plan' for the security and protection of the children, who are separated from families, without parents and guardians and those need special protection due to disaster.
Accordingly, the Temporary Protection Service Centre for children has been brought into operation at Godawari municipality-12 of Lalitpur.
At the initiative of Ministry of Women, Children, Gender, Sexual Minorities and Social Security, the National Child Rights Council brought the Centre into operation to provide immediate safe settlement and necessary protection services for the children affected from disaster and those who need special protection. 
Different services—safe housing, health treatment, psychosocial counseling, searching their families or relatives would be provided for children in the centre. 
Similarly, the children would be safely reunited with their families or relatives whenever possible by ensuring utmost interest and safety of the children. 
Arrangement of long-term safe protection would be made as the final options in accordance with prevailing laws and standards based on children's utmost interest, safety and needs only if safe reunion with families and relatives is impossible.
